Information on COVID-19, ATOL Protection, and our Snow Promise
We know the world is an uncertain place at the moment, and many people want clarity on their travel arrangements. Travel restrictions are beginning to ease in Europe and holiday resorts are adjusting to the ‘new normal’ which balances safety precautions with delivering an enjoyable holiday. Below, you will find our ‘Travel with Confidence’ pledge for all our guests who are either due to travel to Lapland or are considering booking.
Safety and Hygiene on Holiday
Rest assured that before your holiday takes place we will review all our operations and work with our suppliers to ensure that your break can be enjoyed safely. We follow your destination country’s regulations (often Finland or Sweden, depending on the tour booked). Regulations are changing constantly, so we are unable to offer an exhaustive list of measures taken as they will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. It is probable that there will be some changes made to our usual operations; for example, the hotel’s buffet service now may be a served meal.
Government Travel Restrictions
We closely follow the advice on international travel given by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. If government travel restrictions prevent the holiday from taking place, then a choice of alternative dates at a more suitable time would be offered or, if those dates were not suitable, then a full refund would be offered.
ATOL and ABTA Protected
We are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority’s ATOL scheme, which means that in the unlikely event of our insolvency, your money is safe. We are also voluntary members of ABTA and so adhere to their code of conduct, which means you can expect the highest standards of care from us.
Our Snow Guarantee
Playing in the deep fresh snow is all part of the Lapland experience, and without it many of our Arctic activities, such as snowmobiling or husky sledding, would be neither safe nor enjoyable. Therefore, if there is insufficient snowfall in Lapland to be able to operate the holidays, we would cancel the tour and offer a choice of alternative available dates or, if those dates are not suitable, a full refund.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my insurance cover me for Coronavirus interruption?
If the Foreign and Commonwealth Office advice is not to travel to your destination, then you would not need
to pursue an insurance claim: we would refund you directly or via your travel agent. However, we strongly
recommend that you take adequate travel insurance to cover your individual requirements. If you or one of
your party were to fall ill and were unable to travel, for example, then you would need to take up the claim
with your insurance provider. You should still ensure you have adequate winter ski and sports cover which
includes snowmobiling and husky sledding.
Will we have to wear masks on the aircraft?
It is most likely that face masks will be required when on the aircraft, though this has yet to be confirmed.
Can I change my holiday to next year?
We remain confident that holidays in the forthcoming winter will still go ahead, safely. Our normal terms and
conditions still apply and we do not have our full programme of 2021/22 holidays on sale, so it would not
yet be possible to move to the following winter. However, if circumstances change, we reserve the right to
vary this term to give you as wide a choice of alternative dates as possible if tours in the winter must be

is the current advice?

Finland: At the time of writing, the UK government has relaxed restrictions on travelling to Finland, and
there is no requirement to self-isolate on return unless you are showing symptoms of Coronavirus. The
Finnish government still require arrivals in Finland to self-isolate for 14 days. This requirement is in place
until 11 August 2020, at which time it will be reviewed.
Sweden: The Swedish government currently have no restrictions in place for arrivals from the UK. The UK
government currently advises against all but essential travel to Sweden.
