Itinerary

Overview:
What's in store for your family?

As the countdown to Christmas begins, there could be nothing more magical than visiting a true winter wonderland. Santa's Lapland offers a landscape of pine trees speckled with glistening snow, crisp white expanses of Arctic wilderness and of course, it is the time-honoured home of Father Christmas himself. Our short stays in Karesuando offer an insight into True Lapland, where a timeless charm is instilled in the traditional ways of a far-flung village 300km above the Arctic Circle. Step into this enchanting scene, with enough time to indulge in the wonders of Lapland: from a magical Search for Santa to a husky experience, your short break will be filled with magical experiences that we’re sure you and your family will never forget.

What we love:

  • Hopping across the border between Finnish Karesuando and Swedish Karesuando

  • Meeting Santa … how does he know our names?!?

  • Stepping into this enchanting scene with enough time to indulge in the wonders of Lapland

Itineraries:

Included activities:

Your short trip to Lapland includes a number of winter activities. There are few experiences quite as exhilarating as journeying across the icy terrain on a snowmobile through Arctic snowscapes - children ride in a sled pulled by your guide’s snowmobile. Your trip to Lapland also includes boarding a sled pulled by a lively team of huskies amid the fells, forests and frozen lakes of Europe’s last wilderness. But there’s little that can match the thrill of your children meeting Santa. Excitement mounts even more as your family sets off on a reindeer-drawn sleigh in search of Santa’s hideaway log cabin where a warming encounter with him awaits, the highlight of this unforgettable trip to Lapland with Transun.

Snowmobile Safari

Duration: Full Length

A snowmobile safari is a must-do part of any Lapland trip. On our Snow is Falling tour, you follow a track through pristine forest under the canopy of towering, snow-clad pines. Children are pulled by a sled following behind.

Husky Safari

Duration: Full Length

A team of eager huskies await the sign … and you’re off! What better way to see the wonders of Lapland than on this exciting journey across the Arctic tundra pulled by those who know it best: your newest four-legged friends.

Reindeer Sleigh Ride

Duration: Full Length

Santa’s faithful reindeer await to take you by sleigh ride through a wintry wonderland forest to find Santa’s hidden cabin. Gently ride through the snow, meandering through towering pines. Do you know the reindeer’s name?

Family Meeting with Santa

Duration: Variable

Of course, no visit to Lapland is complete without a visit to see the REAL Father Christmas in his homeland. But where is he? Journey through a snow-clad forest until you find a cabin in a clearing. Is he there? Come in and find out…

Santa's Wishlist

To help Santa we’ll ask you for some details about your children before you travel so that Santa has something he can talk about with them during their meeting? What they would like for Christmas, their hobbies, interests or achievements, things about your children to make your visit to see Santa all that more magical!

* Order of activities can vary.
