Overview
For many animal lovers, it is the hard-working huskies that are the highlight of a winter trip inside the Arctic Circle, and our Husky Sled Adventurer package has been designed exactly with them in mind. This three or four-night break includes two thrilling excursions that will give you plenty of opportunities to befriend these beautiful creatures and marvel at their eager enthusiasm for work – a Northern Lights Husky Safari and then a full day Husky Adventure!
This trip offers the chance to explore Lapland by husky, discover the beauty of Karesuando and the surrounding area and, if that's not quite enough, there are numerous optional excursions that you can book to make your holiday even more special.

Husky Sled Adventurer
Northern Lights Husky Safari
Duration: Two hours
Take a magical evening safari on a sledge pulled by a team of dogs, hopefully travelling under the beautiful Northern Lights (of course, this cannot be guaranteed). Two adults share a sled and dog team.
Full Day Husky Adventure
Duration: Full Day
Enjoy travelling through the snow-clad forest with your dog team, stopping for a warming lunch amidst the wilderness, before returning to the husky farm, where your dogs will at last enjoy a well-earned rest and perhaps a treat or two!

Arctic Star Hotel
Overview
Situated on the outskirts of Swedish Karesuando, the Arctic Star is a traditional and friendly hotel offering superb views over both the majestic Muonio River and the Kaarevaara fell. Here, you are well placed to explore Karesuando on foot, dropping in at Sweden’s most northerly church, paying a visit to the local museum and regularly crossing the Finnish-Swedish border.
Whilst simple and comfortable, the hotel has recently undergone a programme of modernisation and has all the essentials you need for a good stay including an open plan bar and dining area. The rooms are simple and cosy, with room upgrades available. You may also be interested in the Davvi Arctic Lodge, located on the Finnish side of Karesuando.
Your stay will be on a full-board basis. Meals are taken at the hotels' on-site restaurant and drinks can be purchased from the adjacent bar.
Davvi Arctic Lodge
Overview
The Davvi Arctic Lodge is a charming, simple hotel set on a quiet, secluded hillside in the border-village of Karesuando. The beautiful restaurant, its circular design inspired by the shape of a Sami reindeer corral, is the hotel’s centrepiece and from here you can enjoy panoramic views over the snow-covered hillside to Swedish Lapland located just across the border.
Deep in the heart of True Lapland, and located on the official Northern Lights route, Karesuando offers once-in-life-time Arctic experiences without the crowds. For those looking to stay in the Swedish side of the village we also offer Northern Light stays at the Arctic Star hotel.

Karesuando
Karesuando is a twin village located on both sides of the border between Sweden and Finland (Karesuvanto) with a population of just over 1,000. Situated approx 300km north of the Arctic Circle and located amid majestic, undisturbed and imposing scenery, Karesuando is home to Sweden's most northerly church. The village is set on the edge of a vast wilderness where beauty, nature and wildlife abound. From the hill Kaare-vaara you have a fantastic view of Sweden,Finland, Norway and the mountain Pältsa.
