Board Magellan in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.
Magellan's first call is Amsterdam. Spend the day exploring canals, flower markets and museums, wander the cobbled streets, or take to the water on a canal cruise.
Today will be spent at sea, giving you the opportunity to acquaint yourselves with Magellan's many facilities.
Alesund, with its natural harbours lined by pastel-painted, gabled and turreted buildings, is a beautiful first port of call. Don't miss the fascinating Sunnmore Museum, which offers insight into life in this part of the world through the ages, and boasts a fine boat collection.
Spend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
The largest settlement beyond the Arctic Circle, Tromso, its magnificent cathedral rising grandly from its bustling centre, is our port of call today. Step ashore to explore its daily market and fascinating Polarmuseum, which chronicles the lives and exploits of the likes of Amundsen and Nansen.
Days Seven and Eight
Magellan spends two days at our northernmost port of call, remote Alta. Sky-gaze at your leisure (the Northern Lights are at their most astounding here), and explore the Arctic region of Finnmark, home to the Sami people, the prehistoric rock carvings at Hjemmeluft and the famous Ice Hotel, on one of the exciting optional excursions.
Magellan docks in the pretty, remote village of Honningsvaag. Enjoy an optional excursion to the famous visitor centre at Nordkapp, or North Cape, close to Europe's northernmost point.
Relax on board as Magellan spends another day at sea.
Beautiful Trondheim is dominated by the imposing Nidaros Cathedral. Step ashore to soak up the atmosphere of a city that was once the capital of Viking Norway. Explore the cathedral and the nearby restored Archbishop's Palace, and don't miss the Stiftsgarden, northern Europe's largest wooden building, and now a royal residence.
Magellan cruises into beautiful Romsdalsfjord and Andalsnes, today. From here, there's the opportunity to enjoy an excursion through some of Norway's most spectacular mountain scenery, and perhaps a chance to visit the famous wooden Rodven stave church in its dreamy setting beside the fjord.
This morning Magellan docks in Bergen - an ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses, and birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.
A final day is spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories your cruise holiday as Magellan heads for home.
Bid farewell to Magellan and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
