Board Magellan in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.
The Dutch maritime city Rotterdam has much to offer. World-class museums, the stunning architecture of the Erasmus Bridge and the remarkable Markthal food market. Explore the lovingly preserved Old Harbour and stroll past nearby Delfshaven's step-gabled houses and ancient wharves.
(On the 30th October cruise, this day will be spent in Amsterdam, exploring the streets and canals of this cosmopolitan city.)
Spend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
Today's call is at Olden. This is the stopping-off point for a trip through the beautiful surrounding countryside to the famous Briksdal Glacier, part of the vast Jostedalsbreen ice-pack, which broods over the eastern reaches of the fjord.
The lovely town of Kristiansund stands on a cluster of four islands at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. It's also the starting point of the Atlantic Ocean Road, a five-mile ribbon of roads and bridges that links the islets and skerries that skirt this part of the Atlantic coast.
Relax on board as Magellan spends another day at sea.
Magellan's next port of call is remote Alta. Spend two days sky-gazing at your leisure here, where the Northern Lights are at their most astounding. Explore the Arctic region of Finnmark (home to the indigenous Sami people, the prehistoric rock carvings at Hjemmeluft and the famous Ice Hotel) on one of our exciting optional excursions.
Today Magellan docks in the pretty, remote village of Honningsvaag. Join an optional excursion to the famous visitor centre at Nordkapp, almost at Europe's northernmost point. You'll return to the ship, passing Europe's true north tip at Knivskjellodden, before Magellan continues south.
Tromso's magnificent 'Arctic Cathedral' rises grandly from its bustling centre. Step ashore to explore the daily market and the fascinating Polarmuseum, which chronicles the lives and exploits of the likes of Amundsen and Nansen.
Relax on board as Magellan spends another day at sea.
Beautiful Trondheim is dominated by the imposing Nidaros Cathedral. Step ashore to soak up the atmosphere of a city that was once the capital of Viking Norway. Explore the cathedral and the nearby restored Archbishop's Palace, and don't miss the Stiftsgarden, northern Europe's largest wooden building, now a royal residence.
Magellan cruises into beautiful Romsdalsfjord and Andalsnes, today. From here, there's the opportunity to enjoy an excursion through some of Norway's most spectacular mountain scenery, and perhaps a chance to visit the famous wooden Rodven stave church in its dreamy setting beside the fjord.
This morning Magellan docks in Bergen. This ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses was the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.
A final day is spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories your cruise holiday as Magellan heads for home.
Bid farewell to Magellan and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
