The Ruka Valley Apartments are a great pick for families and groups who want a peaceful wintery retreat. It’s tucked in a car-free zone between the Ruka ski area and the Valtavaara nature reserve – this is a quiet spot where you can really appreciate the snowy Finnish scenery. If you want to visit a bar or restaurant, then the Village-2-Valley gondola will get you to the centre of Ruka village in 5 minutes.

Apartment facilities

These apartments are self-catering and all have free WiFi, a TV and a kitchenette with a microwave, oven, hot plates, toaster, fridge, kettle and coffee machine. Bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning of the apartment but not dishes are included.

Type C studio (32m²) – sleeps 1-4 (max 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children aged up to 12 years): Open-plan living area, twin beds, mezzanine with double bed (accessed by a ladder and only suitable for children), bathroom with shower, WC and a private sauna.

Type C apartment (48m²) – sleeps 1-4: Two bedrooms with twin beds, lounge, bathroom with a shower, WC and private sauna.

Type E1 apartment (58m²) – sleeps 1-6 (max 4 adults or 4 adults and 2 children aged up to 12 years): Two bedrooms with twin beds, lounge with double sofa bed, bathroom with a shower and WC, an additional WC, a separate private sauna and hot tub.


These rooms are offered on a bed & breakfast basis. They’re non-smoking and have free WiFi, a TV, a hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.

Type B1 studio (28m²) – sleeps 1-3 (max 2 adults or 2 adults and 1 child aged up to 12 years): Twin beds, extra pull-out bed, shower, WC and private sauna.

Type A studio (28m²) – sleeps 1-2: Twin beds, bath with shower attachment, WC and private sauna.

Cots are available to hire for €10.



In Ruka centre, located at the base of the main slopes and you’ll find bars, restaurants and good quality hotels within a stone’s throw of the lifts. There’s plenty of life to it throughout but it’s welcoming at all times. Just outside the village centre are traditional log cabins, with wood fires and private saunas.
